Club week took place during the last five days of February. Every club was allowed to participate by selling club related items and food during lunch and painting a mural in dedication to the club.
The Administration values clubs as an essential part of the high school experience.
“If all you do is go to your four class periods every day, high school is not a very pleasant experience. Ms. Young believes that being in clubs will make high school a better experience. It’s the relationships you form that makes high school a part of your life. We wanted to help inspire students that there is more to school than just four class periods a day.” said, Vice Principal, Natalie Williams.
The week was also created to benefit the clubs themselves.
“Club week was designed to raise the recognition of organizations by selling food and painting club murals, serve as a fundraiser for clubs and for students to have fun and fellowship.” stated Williams.
The week itself went very according to plan with very few hiccups.
“Honestly the challenges weren’t really too big, there’s a lot of organization that was involved in terms of assigning locations and making sure that groups sold different items so that everyone had an opportunity to raise funds. It could have been a bigger challenge at another school but because of how dedicated the Arlington high school staff and sponsors are they made it very easy.” said Williams.
Overall club week was very well received with the student body and many clubs were able to assert themselves thanks to the administration’s brilliant idea.
