‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ builds on characters audience already loves

New DC Comics show on The CW “promises to be nothing more than phenomenal”.

Since the Debut of “Arrow” in 2012, DC Comics has been allowing The CW to create TV shows with their stories, characters and intellectual property. After “Arrow” received stellar reviews for it’s first and second seasons, The CW created “The Flash” with a character that had first appeared on “Arrow”. This allowed them to connect the two shows and begin to create a DC universe of their own.

The next show that The CW has released in this universe is “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”. This show differs from its predecessors in that it has a group of main characters as opposed to having one main hero as a protagonist. The main characters, however, have made appearances on “The Flash” and “Arrow”, whether it was as a hero, a villain or someone who sits in the gray area between good and evil. The cast of protagonists will include Hawkgirl, Hawkman, Firestorm, Captain Cold, The Atom, Heat Wave, Rip Hunter and Sara Lance as White Canary (formerly Black Canary of “Arrow”).

The premise of the show is that about 150 years in the future the notorious villain, Vandal Savage, has managed to do what no one else in history has: he has conquered the entire world and has an empire with which he oppresses the Earth. A Time-Master by the name of Rip Hunter has seen this happen and knows that he must prevent it or allow the world to fall into ruin. So he goes back to January 2016 and forms a team of heroes that he believes can save the world from Vandal Savage.

This show will be the closest to a live action “Justice League” that fans of the DC universe will have for a while. With a group of protagonists that has already been introduced to and loved by the audience of these shows, “Legends of Tomorrow” promises to be nothing more than phenomenal.
