Warm weather brings music festivals; The Colt gives away free tickets
As the warm weather approaches, festival season begins.
The Colt is giving away two tickets to JMBLYA and two tickets to the Vans Warped Tour. Keep on reading to find out how you can enter to win.
JMBLYA
Who: Future, Rae Sremmurd, Carnage, Kevin Gates, Kehlani, Keith Ape, Jazz Cartier, Noodles, and special guest Post Malone.
What: Music festival filled with some of today’s most popular music performers.
When: Friday, May 13, 2016; doors open @ 3p.m.

Vans Warped Tour
Who: Headliners include Falling in Reverse, Good Charlotte, Less Than Jake, New Found Glory, Sum 41, Yellowcard, and Sleeping with Sirens, among many others.
What: Music festival with a diverse lineup of artists from several different genres. The festival is known for bringing punk rock, skate, and action sports culture to the youth culture.

I have worked so hard in school and got my cosmetology license before I even got my high school diploma . I’ve always had to spend my money on my business so I never get to go do anything memorable . My friends are all going off to colleges around the country and having these tickets would let us go and have a amazing end of the year together for the last time . I am a hard working Colt with much Colt pride and tradition who would love to attend JMBLYA mainly because of my beloved taste in music because it is one of the only ways for me to express myself and it’s a great stress reliever. I think I deserve or should win jmblya tickets because I am a caring colt I support every club fine art and cool thing at Arlington especially the news paper . Vans Warped Tour:
Former drummer in the ahs band here (who picks up a guitar here and there). My friend and I are extreme music junkies who were just at edgefest. I grew up on music from my dad’s great taste in classic rock, folk, blues…you name it. Music lies in my SOUL? and I think that really distinguishes me from some of the other participants. I’d go insane if my future career didn’t relate to the field of art. Arlington High has really opened my eyes to those who want to express themselves through any form of art. I’d tell you some sappy story but honestly I just really love music. I want to wish everyone the best of luck for entering & congrats to the future winner! JMBLYA is literally the only bit of excitement I have to figuratively look forward to. I work a minimum wage weekend job and give all of my checks to my unemployed single mom so she can pay bills and buy food for us to eat. I have ZERO disposable income and I am more stressed out than any normal 15 year old should be. I want tickets to VANS WARPED TOUR because I have never been and have been wanting to go for a very long time. It would be cool to win tickets and as a senior, it’s kind of like, wow i’m about to graduate and i won tickets to watch all these bands perform. Even if i don’t win it will still have been nice to have thought about it. I also would like to say good luck to everyone who wants to win tickets as much as I do.

I believe I should win Warped Tour tickets because it’s always a struggle for me to save up money to go every year and it will help a lot if this year I could get a break from stressing out over money(:

I think I should win the tickets to JMBLYA because I’ve never been to a concert before and have never experienced one. Also, some of my favorite artists will be there performing which would be super cool to see them for my first concert! Hopefully I win!

I really want the tickets because it will give me a chance to go out and explore what it means to be a.colt and yo show people what school I go to so I can show people that Arlington high is an amazing school also I love all kinds of music from classical to r&b to me every song has a message and I want to be the person to find out what they are it would be a real honor to get tickets.

Hi I’m Rachel and a freshman! I would absolutley love to go to Jmblya because i want something fun to do and seeing some of my favorite artists live would be a blast! A chance to chill and jam and have fun! I don’t get to see live artists often and seeing people like Future and Malone and others! BRUH I’d be SO PSYCHED!!!

I am a freshman and I would L O V E to go to Vans Warped Tour. I love most of the bands that are performing and I especially love We The Kings because Charles Trippy is one of my icons. He has been through a rough time and being there for him would be so great. I love music and take a liking to almost any kind of music. If i got chosen I would go with one of my best friends because the bands that are performing are the reason we became such good friends. Thanks for considering my submission #warpedtour2016

I’m a 9th grade and I would love to go on warped tour because I really love the bands going, music is a big thing in my life in and out of school, and I listen to most of these bands on a daily basis. If I won I would take my friend, we actually became friends because of one of the bands going and it would be very special to both of us if we could go because it would be a great experience.

Cynthia Saldierna, Sophomore i really believe i deserve to attend JMBLYA because i am very hard working and have been very stressed out this year. A little fun to have for myself and some friends would be great. Also because i LOVE LOVE POST MALONE! it would be the high light of my entire life to see him preform live i would have such a outstanding experience and a story to live with me and to tell my children and grandchildren. I would love to go to Jmblya becuase my girlfriend got a ticket to go with all of her friends but they ditched her and now she is going alone. I’d buy a ticket but they have gotten so pricey. I don’t want my girlfriend going alone and it would be an awesome experience to see artists I listen to everyday and would be a memory I’ll always have. Thanks for the consideration!

I feel I should be able to go to jmblya because it would be a very fun and memorable experience to see some of my favorite artists performing live with a friend. As it is with some other people, money is tight and people use disposable income on events like these. Well, I have none especially with a bill from college coming shortly in a couple months. I would be extremely grateful for the opportunity to go and this would be an awesome graduation present from the high school that provided me with four years of memories that I will forever look back on.

I feel like I deserve the Jmbyla tickets because I’m a HUGE music fan, especially rap/hip hop! I LOVE Future, Kevin Gates, Post Malone, Rae Sremmurd and the rest of the people who are coming! Music is a genuine passion of mine and seeing several of my favorite artist would be a HUGE blessing! I would do anything to go to Jmbyla but times are hard and money is tight! So if The Colt could and so kindly would provide me with a ticket, that would be a gigantic blessing and I would be BEYOND thankful and appreciative! Thank you for considering me!
