Celebration of life for Tanner McCaskey
More stories from Emily Miller
Tanner McCaskey, class of 2016, passed away on Friday. There will be a celebration of life for Tanner at 4 p.m. this Thursday, Dec. 15 in the AHS auditorium.
The following is from Principal Shahveer Dhalla:
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I feel it is important for me to remind everyone that the holidays can be a difficult time for many and there can be an increase in feelings of depression and anxiety that can lead to suicidal thoughts or self harm. If you see anything different in your students’ [children’s] behavior, please let a counselor know.
Students and parents gathered Friday night on the baseball field to pay respects to Tanner and his family. I want to thank Coach Nix, Coach Womack, and Coach Peach for being present to support our students through the grieving process. It was a powerful sight to see dozen of students tossing baseballs in order to help with the grieving process.”

Tanner it’s almost been two weeks… we miss you more than you could imagine! Thank you for helping me when I needed a hand, I wish you would’ve told me I had two hands to help you⤠I go out to the baseball fields at AHS all the time and talk to you! It’s where I first met you, I’ll never forget that smile! I love you. You may have been #22 on the field but you will always be #1 in my world?
