Junior uses class project to raise money for hurricane relief
After the disastrous impacts of hurricanes Harvey and Irma alike, there was a call-to-action for anyone who was able to give aid to Texan’s in need. Teddy Holloway, junior, answered this call-to-action by using his passion in photography for a good cause.
“I do junior and senior portraits to raise money for hurricane efforts,” Holloway said. “I might change it to do other hurricane relief efforts as time passes.”
Through the International Baccalaureate Program, Holloway was able to develop this project and has posted fliers around the school to raise interest for his charitable project.
“It is one of my passions so why not do this?” Holloway said. “What I want to do is to start my portfolio and start this as a side career.”
All profits made by the photography sessions will be donated to charity, and through that it will be sent out for relief aid.
“I’m sending the donations to Direct Relief, they direct the money to the location it’s going to,” Holloway said. “I was inspired by a public speaker in my CAS (Creativity/Activity/Service) class. It was a talk about how you should find something that you love to do and serve the community.”
To schedule a photo session with Holloway contact him on Instagram, @hollofamephotos, or via email, [email protected]. Sessions start with a $25 donation, larger donations will result in more photos.
Direct Relief, a Georgia based organization, uses donations to help deliver aid to groups in need. If you would like to donate to multiple causes, go to https://www.directrelief.org/.
